Who says thirteen is an unlucky number? First
of all, *I* am thirteen, and this year
has started shaping up to be my luckiest year for a long time! And guess
when my lucky new year started?
That’s right, on Friday the Thirteenth (of May, that is). So you can believe it
when I say that as far as I’m concerned, thirteen is really a LUCKY number!
… Adorable Abby came to
GRR when her family could no longer give her the care they knew she should have.
She’d lived with them ever since she was just a lively 2-year-old. But the years
went by, and life changes, new babies, and ever busier schedules all took their
toll. And the family realized that the old dog who had once been
a beloved family member was being pushed to the edges of their lives,
spending more & more time alone in
the yard. “This isn’t right,” they said. “Please, help find Abby a family who
will treasure her and give her the Golden Years she so deserves.”
Abby moved right in with
her foster family, including two other senior Goldens. “This is more like it,”
she says. She has her pick of soft dog beds, all the petting a dog could want,
and yummy food with fresh vegetables added for extra vitamins. “She’s so sweet,”
says her foster mom. “She’s eager to please and sticks close to you. She knows
her commands of SIT, STAY, and DOWN. She enjoyed her bath and looks like a
princess now!”
