Bruno

Bruno and his mom Daisy came to GRR when their owner could no longer care for them. Both redheads are doing great in foster care. Here’s what Bruno’s foster mom has to say:
What a sweet and loving boy!
Since joining our family as our foster dog, Bruno has been quite the gentleman. He is gentle, calm, loving, and really just wants attention. He will sit all day long and just let you pet him—and you can expect him to follow you around wherever you go! He is not overactive or hyper; he finds the cat interesting at times but does not chase her. If he sniffs her a little too close for her comfort, she hisses at him and he backs right off.
Even though he lived mostly outdoors in his first home, Bruno has not had any accidents in our house—although we let him out frequently to make sure he has plenty of opportunities to use the restroom. When we are not home he is confined to one room with his foster brother, Dillon.
Bruno is slightly overweight, but we think this is more due to lack of exercise than to overeager eating. He walks very well on the leash & doesn’t pull at all, but he does tend to walk behind you rather than next to you. We are working on that. He is also learning to fetch a ball! We just need to work on dropping it when he brings it back. He doesn’t seem to know many commands, but he will sit for a treat.
When we we eat dinner, he is interested to see if we’ll pass him some table scraps, but when he realizes we won’t, he just lies down and waits for us to finish. But if some tempting people food were left out on the counters… it’s possible he might do a little surfing.
Bruno is a bit of an attention hog, and will push Dillon out of the way to get all your petting and loving. So far he’s not very interested in playing with Dillon, but he’s great with our kids and is perfectly content to just sit and be petted. He might do just fine as an only dog, since he is more interested in human attention than playing with other dogs.
So far he’s not a big barker—in fact, he has been here for 5 days and we haven’t even heard him bark yet. Not even at the cat, the doorbell, or the mailman! He doesn’t jump on people when they come in, but he has been so excited to see his foster Dad a few times that he put his paws up on him. Bruno doesn’t really realize how big he is. We’re working on that, too.
Sweet, loving, friendly, gentle, quiet, great with kids and the cat. Not sure what more you could ask for in a dog! Bruno will make a wonderful addition to someone’s family. We are lucky to be able to foster such a sweet boy.
