OK, I took this young “pup” even though I told GRR that I don’t do youngsters. And to prove my point, just take a look at his pictures.  Ridley is just living proof of why I say “No juveniles in this household!”

How anyone could want that cute little face with a big smile is beyond me. Why, just give me an old curmudgeon dog any day of the week. This little dog just lives to have fun, give lots of love, and obey commands…HA! See, he is being sneaky right off.

I am supposed to take care of him for the next 2 months during his heartworm treatment and I am already wondering just how I’m going to survive Ridley’s affection and great attitude. I’m betting he is putting on an act just to try and win me over. And you should see his “I’m happy all the time” act; it’s a good one.

Well, Mister Ridley, you will have to be some kind of special dog to win me over. Just because my two older Irish Setters like you and all the children in the neighborhood who came by during Hallowe’en loved you, does not mean I can’t see through your sly dog ways of worming yourself into someone’s heart.

Ridley may only be 18 months old, but he acts like he knows how to love a family and be a good dog. Oh, I’m watching you, Buster!—and even though all I see is a wonderful little guy, I just know you are trying to find a forever home and then your real personality will come out and boy, will they be surprised when you show them what a perfect little Golden you are! And I hope they are ready to lose some tennis balls, what with the way you play and have a good time with them.

I’ve seen your kind before! just full of good times and wanting to be nice to everyone. Well, I know better; no one is that good without a reason. And I’m pretty sure you just want to use me to get adopted…sleep next to me, eat my food, give me love and attention, be a quiet and well-mannered little dog… yeah, I see it all now. I’m just a foster daddy to adore until you get a new home and then I’m just “chopped liver.”

Well, all I can say is that forever family better put in their bid soon, or your evil plan to win me over completely might succeed TOO well & you just might end up staying here!
