Nibbler

Update: 8/13/10

Hi everyone,

My name is Nibbler, and everybody who meets me says I am a wonderful dog! I don’t remember too much about my puppy days, but I do know that by the time I was a Golden “teenager” (which I am now—just 2 years old), I was all on my own. Pretty soon I wound up in the pound. Luckily, the nice people there called up Gold Ribbon Rescue right away and even arranged to give me a ride north to my new town.

That was nearly two months ago, and since then I have been staying with a great foster mom with lots of other dogs, not to mention horses. She says I am:
* Adorable
* Sweet
* Crate-trained & housebroken
* A great car rider
* Calm & good indoors
* Goofy and playful outdoors
… In other words, just exactly what a Golden Retriever should be.

So why do I need a new foster home?

Well, first, I have heartworms and I need to get going on my treatment, but my foster mom doesn’t live close enough to a GRR vet to get me started on my shots. And I really need to get all that out of the way so that I can kick up my heels by the time the cool weather finally shows up.

And second: I am an escape artist and foster mom’s fence is just too easy for me to dig under! I can work fast, too.  One time while the people were inside for 15 minutes & I was outdoors, I seized my opportunity, and then I took off and ran out in the field & started barking at the horses and chasing them. I think it’s a game, but they don’t, and foster mom is worried about a horse injuring me.

So that’s my story so far, and I hope you can help me write the next chapter, where I get heartworm treatment and live with a nice family with a secure fence and no horses.
