update 4/20/10:

Bogart 10-055

Seen sleuthing about town for at least a month, this red-headed fellow appeared as a Found Dog on Craigslist in early March: “If nobody comes forward, I’ll have to take him to the shelter,” read the post. Well, apparently that didn’t happen—instead, Bogart either escaped a yard or was ushered out the gate and sent back on his own, because he once again was sighted snooping about the area. This went on until mid-April, when a wonderful lady, Mrs G, spotted the young Golden interrogating construction workers in her brand-new neighborhood. The workers were singularly unresponsive to the dedicated dog’s attempts to uncover possible building-code violations, and chased him away with yells and shoves. He sped away—right into oncoming traffic. Yipes! “That won’t do!” decided Mrs G. “He had better come home with me.”

Bogart was only too happy to find a safe haven. So happy that he just had to jump for joy, and briskly flattened the family’s toddler several times. A call to GRR followed a few days later, but not before Bogart had been walked (yes, at last safely on lead) all over the area. No owner.

So, now Bogie is a GRR dog & is busy doing his detecting at home! He was a big hit at the vet’s, where he pranced around the office toting stuffies. He is a high-energy guy who needs some training and, of course, lots of exercise. More news coming soon as his foster family gets to know him better.
