Lucille
Updated 04/19/10
It was a really hard decision, but Lucille’s owner finally made up her mind that the sweet Golden girl would be better off in a family with more time for her. Family dynamics & pressures were pushing Lucille out of the picture, and she deserved more: “She is great with children, other dogs and cats. She doesn’t even jump on the kids. Very sweet, lovable, and affectionate.”
Lucy is just now settling into foster care, and her family has pronounced her a lovely houseguest. “She is doing great, very relaxed.” The one time she isn’t laidback is during T-storms; she gets very, very nervous, but if you can keep her company & let her hide out in the bathroom, she’ll settle down and wait for the commotion to pass.
Lucy has a beauty parlor date all set up for this weekend, so we are hoping to have some glamorous shots of her to post soon!

Update 4/20/10
They say that no news is good news… and Lucille’s foster family reports that she started out perfect and has stayed that way! Someone out there is going to get an ideal family Golden.
This gal is happy & bouncy, yet not too much for her foster family’s 8-month-old baby. She’s completely trustworthy in the house and can be left loose when you’re gone—no problems. Typically she’s calm, relaxed, and happy to nap when nothing else is going on, but if you get her excited, she’ll happily play or give you a kiss. (: Totally housebroken… if she needs to use the restroom, a polite bark alerts you to let her pop outdoors for a quick trip to the ladies’.
Lucille sleeps calmly through the night unless there’s a thunderstorm—in which case she takes a Benadryl and hides out in the bathroom till the noise stops.
Lucy plays well with other dogs. She enjoys fetch, but you do have to take the ball out of her mouth (it’s not difficult to do). She’s curious about cats, and if Kitty runs, she will give chase.
She’d be wonderful as an only dog or a second dog. She’s the perfect gentle companion, just what a Golden should be. Who could resist that face? Call now!
